New line of Net
marketing launched in Sri Lanka
By Chaturi Dissanayake
Qtex Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, an innovative media solutions company
that provides solutions in print and Internet media representation,
has launched the "CPC Market", an online advertising system
for the first time in Sri Lanka.
The
CPC Market is based on “Cost-Per-Click” search-engine
advertising which lets the companies reach out to the customer while
they are actively seeking the particular product or service that
the company is offering. This is by listing the site under the specific/sponsored
search results on subjects that the advertising company specialises
in.
The
CPC Market online advertising package is offering to target customers
based on keywords (search word) known as “keyword-based targeting”
and as a value-added service the client has the option to be advertised-based
on contextual placement.
Qtex
Solutions is also offering their services to companies who want
to advertise in websites/search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN,
Altavista, Excite, Go2Net, InfoSpace, Sympatico.ca, CNN, ESPN, National
Geographic, Reuters, Wall Street Journal, and Advertising.com.
Lafir
Thassim, Chairman of Qtex Solutions(Pvt) Ltd and its US-based sister
company Coventris (Llc), speaking to The Sunday Times FT said the
CPC Market is targeting the large- and medium-size companies and
that their initial target is the export and the tourism sectors.
He
also added that CPC Market advertising will enable the industries
which cater to a global market to reach their customers more effectively.
He said the product will give better advertising opportunities for
the local tourism industry as hoteliers and other participants in
the tourism sector will be able to reach out to their customers
before they arrive in Sri Lanka.
“There
is huge potential for the Cost-Per-Click market, and we are not
talking about reaching to a few thousand customers, but millions.
In the US alone 65 percent of the population access the Internet
and in UK its 58 percent, so Sri Lankan companies will have the
ability to target the global market better,” said Mr. Thassim
referring to the advantages the Sri Lankan companies would receive
through CPC Market.
