Samaga Heluwen’ back on stage
‘Horu Samaga Heluwen’,
Prasanna Vithanage's Sinhala language adaptation of two Dario Fo
plays, will be staged on May 19 at 3.30 and 7.00 p.m. at
the Elephinstone Theatre, Maradana.

The Play made its debut in February at the same
venue. It is slated to embark on an island-wide tour of Sri Lanka
following the Colombo performances.
The play, comprising two one-act plays by Italian Nobel Laureate
Fo, features an impressive lineup of players from the Sinhala theatre,
including Jayalath Manoratne, Dayadeva Edirisinghe, Saumya Liyanage,
Jayani Senanayaka, Gayani Gisanthika, Prasnnajith Abeysooriya, Prasad
Sooriyarachchi, Wasantha Weerakkody (Who also doubles as Costume
Designer) and Hashinika Kaarliyadde. Tharupathi Munasinghe is responsible
for original music for the play.
Chandana Nishantha Peiris is the show's Stage Manager, assisted
by Asoka Zoysa. Buddadasa Galappatti, a veteran in the field, will
do make-up while Jude Srimal is the show's Chief Organizer. Prasad
Perera is Vithanage's Assistant Director and Rohan Samaradivakara
is Producer for Horu Samaga Heluwen.

Also 'Sinhabahu' stage play of Prof. Ediriwira
Sarachchandra will be staged on May 18 at 8.30 a.m. and
11.30 a.m. at Hindu Cultural theatre, Kandy.
