Arise, o people of our land,
To face the plight that is at hand,
The suff’ring caused by endless strife
Man at war with man ‘midst life.

Arise, Sri Lankans, and unite
To make our nation’s future bright,
Where war and fear are all ‘have beens’
A land where freedom reigns supreme.

Arise, o people, one and all,
List to Lanka’s fervent call
To end all strife and start anew,
Unite, o sons of Lanka true!
