Jagath Kahanda, new director at DCSL

Kolitha Jagath Kahanda has been appointed a director to the blue chip Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka Limited (DCSL) from December 1, about a week after its chairman V.P.Vittachi says he was sacked from the board.

Kahanda, 47, joined DCSL’s top management in 1993 from his previous employer Colombo Hilton. A well known hockey player in late 70’s, he was a member of the National Hockey team and in Defense services hockey team.

Kahanda fills the vacancy on the board created by the demise of A.N.D. Balasuriya, the company said.
