65th Anniversary Celebration of China Radio International

The Listeners Association of China Radio International organized a ceremony to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of China Radio International at the Lumbini Theatre in Colombo recently.

The chief guest was the Minister of Media and Information Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, and the guest of honour was Governor of the Southern Province Kingsley T. Wickramaratne.

The commemorative speech was delivered by the Minister of Labour Relations and Foreign Employment, Athauda Seneviratne. The programme was coordinated by Thilak Udumullage, President of the China-Sri Lanka Society, Madushan Kularatne, General Secretary and Nishantha Muthumala of the Listeners Association of China Radio International.

The delegates were hosted for lunch by Governor Wickramaratne at his residence, at Sri Jayewardenapura, Kotte.

Prof. Leena de Silva’s book "Life cycle Rituals among the Sinhalese" was presented by Mr. Wickremaratne to the special guests.
