Ban, ban, ban: Where will it end?

We fully appreciate the need for enhanced security. There is no argument about that.

But security must be provided in such a way that ensures the safety of the VIP but at the same time allows us ordinary citizens to go about our legitimate affairs, like going to work, going marketing, taking our children to school and so on without let or hindrance. The Security Forces, the Police in particular, take the easy way out. Instead of providing security they stand at various junctions and prevent us from going about our work. When that fails to prevent an attack, as it has been proved, they prevent us from using the implements and accessories of day to day life.

Thus;

Because persons in vehicles with tinted glass commit crimes, ban vehicles with tinted glass.
Because parked vehicles are used to commit crimes, ban parking of vehicles.
Because persons travelling on certain roads commit crimes, ban travelling on those roads.
(Not only the roads where VIPs live but several principal city roads as well)
Then because vehicles travelling in both directions promote crimes, ban travelling in both directions on roads. This incidentally is the second time in the year. (We have yet to understand how travelling only in one direction prevents attacks).
Now because criminals use mobile phones, ban / control mobile phones.

Logically this will progress as follows:-
Because someone was stabbed with a kitchen knife ban kitchen knives.
Imagine our having to go to the Police Station with a certificate from the Grama Sevaka (if we can find him) to go get a kitchen knife released for a few minutes (and find a vehicle to transport a police constable escorting the knife to and from my house) to cut a very expensive lime in half.

Because someone hid behind a tree and committed a crime, ban trees.
Because someone came out of a house and shot at a passerby, ban houses.
Then lead to the absurd situation where because a woman was raped, ban …..
