'Lama Mithuru Pasal' Art Competition

This Art Competition for the Primary students of 'Lama Mithuru Pasal' was held on December 1, 2006 at Sithumina Vidyalaya, Bowalawatte, Kandy, as part of their Golden Jubilee celebrations.

A total of eighty students from six schools, designated 'Lama Mithuru Pasal' participated in the competition, conducted in three age categories. The students of these village schools, located in the outskirts of Kandy are seldom exposed to such competitions. The aim was to encourage artistic skills in these children.

The event was funded by the National Development Bank and the winners of the first three places in each category, received Savings Certificates from the NDB, while consolation prize winners received gift packs.
