HSBC in front

Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank with some outstanding Davis Cup players of yesteryear such as Arjun Fernando, Aasiri Iddamalgoda and Sanjaya Wijemanne supported by Gavin Perera and Henricus are leading over their nearest rivals John Keells Holdings in their Mercantile Tennis competition now in progress at the SLTA Courts, Green Path. The competition is being sponsored by N D B Bank for the third successive year.

According to CEO Sri Lanka Tennis Association Lionel Almeida of rugby fame this Mercantile tournament gives playing opportunities to players in the private sector. Last year NDB Bank won the title and DFCC were the runners-up. The finals will be worked off on December 30 at 3.30 p.m.
