At the grand opening Ceremony, the guests were welcomed at the entrance by the General Manager Scott Toon along with members of the staff.

The highlight of the night was the fireworks display, apart from grand buffet dinner for the guest.

Recreating history, The Fortress has been styled after Galle's powerful ancient Dutch Fort, blending the country's Dutch and Portuguese influences with Sri Lankan motifs and indigenous furnishings to echo the historic days of Old Ceylon.
