A simple ceremony

A simple ceremony to felicitate the first lady of dance, Vajira, on her 75th birthday on March 15 was held at the Vajira-Chitrasena Kalayatanaya in Colombo 5.

Organized by family, friends and past students, the highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of those who have been supportive of the efforts of Vajira and dance icon, the late Chitrasena, in keeping Kandyan dance alive.
