Reggae Jam for Jayasri

Popular duo Rohitha and Rohan popularly known as Jayasri will be in Colombo for the Sinhala New Year Festival.

The brothers will be doing a couple of concerts in Sri lanka during the festive period and will have more promotional events on their new album 'Samaya- Peace'.

Writing a special mail to TV Times, Rohitha said they will be in Sri Lanka for just two weeks. The band will be in action at the Reggae Jam 2007 Open air festival in Reinsberg in June.

Reinsberg Arena in Austria will be the venue for this Reggae Concert with some of the top international reggae bands such as one of the popular Reggae bands in the world ‘Afrika Tage’ (Africa Days).

'Also we will be taking part at the World Music Festival in Vienna's Danube Island Open air Concert in August with many international bands from Africa, Caribbean and Europe. Summer Jam 2007 Festival too will be the other gig for us' he said.

Jayasri was in South Korea in mid February for a couple of concerts.

'It was a nice experience to visit Korea for the first time with the full Jayasri band. We had two concerts in Deagu city and Seoul city. Meeting lot of Sri Lankans and giving them, sharing our music and sharing their views was a remarkable experience’ Rohitha said.

'Performing in Napoli - Italy, at Stazione Marittima, a historic harbour with the view of Visuvio volcanic mountain to mark the International Women's Day on the 4 March organized by the Italian Government was another great achievement' he added.

'We performed with International band line --ups such as Gruppo Guewel (Senegal), Maria Pia De Vito and Valentina Stella, MEG (all Italian popular artistes and bands)'
