Caltex rewards good performances

Caltex Lubricants Lanka Limited paid tribute to the shining stars of the organisation at the Caltex Star Awards held recently. At this ceremony, Arjuna Imbulpitiya from Commercial and Industrial Sales was awarded the coveted award of the event – “The Marketer of the Year 2006” for his outstanding performance during the year, according to a company press release.

Also at the ceremony, awards were presented for the best Marketing Executive, the Outstanding Sales Engineer, Regional Sales Manager, Marketing Support Services Member, Management Team Member and the Top Intellect Award for the Leadership Team Member.

Robert Gabor, Head of Economic and Consumer Affairs for the US Embassy in Sri Lanka, speaking at the event, commended the organization for its rich diversity of workforce committed to the innovation and motivation of ideas. He applauded the organisation for its principles of fostering an environment where everyone can reach his or her full potential.

The following category winners were ceremonially presented with awards:

A. H. T. Jayashantha was adjudged the Marketing Executive for the year in recognition of his innovative new customer recruitment and retention strategies.

The award for the best performer from Commercial and Industrial Sales was jointly awarded to Arjuna Imbulpitiya and Ujith Hewage for their active participation which have impacted the overall organisation.

The award for Regional Sales Manager was awarded to Asanka Kularatne for the second year running in recognition of his drive and passion for the business.

The most outstanding Marketing Support Services Member was awarded to Hilary Fernando for his vast contribution to the organisation at large.

In addition to the above, Caltex also recognized Sumith Hewavithana as the Most Outstanding Management Team Member for taking on challenges with a strong commitment to deliver under tough conditions and Dr. Gamini Amarasekara received the ‘Top Intellect Award’ as the Most Outstanding Leadership Team Member for the second consecutive year, for his valuable contribution to the organization.
