Select the best for traffic control outside schools: Police

The Police would train fifty children from all schools which already have traffic control units and requested the teachers that they should select the best students for the purpose, said Chief Inspector Ajith Dharmapala who heads the Kandy Police Traffic Division.

He said school traffic control unit members could also carry out security duties by checking the students who enter the school.
He made this observation while distributing traffic vests to all schools which had formed road traffic control units in the Kandy District.

The distribution ceremony was held at the Kandy Traffic Division auditorium. Inspector Dharmapala said the school traffic control units were an integral part of the school.
