Lessons from Normandy
The present Parliament consists of 225 members, over 100 ministers, ably assisted by many “experts”- all on high salaries and other benefits, including duty free luxury vehicles. This is a severe drain on the economy which has been going down the drain.
In addition to the economic problem we are also facing a security problem.
Attacks in the south, have caused much damage. People have also been abducted and large amounts have to be paid for their release. In spite of such payments some have yet to be released.
With the introduction of the LTTE Air Force with two light craft attacking identified targets, the intended purchase of jet craft costing billions has to be granted top priority and consideration. We should also explore alternative methods to destroy these illegal craft and the bases from where they operate.
For any war to be a success, we have to consider that attack on Normandy during World War II– this attack was from – land, sea and air.
