A wedding
I have been to
Under 8 years
Last Friday we went to Galle to attend a wedding. It was a very long journey for us. It was in a village called Gintota.
On the day of the wedding all the men went to the mosque with the bridegroom for the Nikkah ceremony (Registration of the marriage). The ladies went to the bride's house. She was on a golden throne. Her dress was white and she wore silver jewellery. She looked very pretty.
After the mid-day prayers, a delicious lunch was served separately for men and women. Later I saw that the bride was wearing a lot of gold jewellery. It was a lovely wedding and I really enjoyed it.

Magical Dreams
As I lean against my window,
And gaze at the twinkling stars,
And see the town bathed in moonlight,
It takes me to a land afar…
The magic of the night pours into me,
As I'm raised into the air.
Oh! What fun it is to fly over the country,
With the wind blowing through my hair!
And then I'm back in the land of dreams,
In a deep slumber so sweet and cool.
But then my alarm clock rings,
I sigh, as I get ready for school!

Actions I would take to make
the world a better place
12 – 14 years
War – the worst thing in the world! First of all, I will take all the actions to eradicate war from this world. I will order to destroy each and every weapon in the world and warn everybody not to produce any weapon, which can be harmful to humans.
I would like to see smiling faces and happy families everywhere. So I will persuade everybody to observe the five precepts, which lead to a just society.
I will not forget the great saying, 'Best things are for children.’ I will provide supreme educational facilities to each school equally. No punishments at the school or at home. Each child will be considered as a gift from God and a good recognition will be given to them.
I will pay special attention to the environment too. I will encourage people to preserve the natural beauty for the future generation.
In this way, I wish I could make the world a better place for all living beings.
