Theli Thuda

Prasanna Bandara Weerasundara will hold a watercolour painting exhibition “Theli Thuda” at the Alliance Française de Kandy from July 7 to 13.

The opening ceremony will be held on July 6 at 6.30 p.m. An old boy of Vidyartha College, Kandy, Prasanna has lived in a small village in Pilimathalawa since childhood.

Prasanna claims that painting was his childhood obsession which grew with him through adulthood. He likes to paint his surroundings in watercolour using a range of techniques.

His natural flair for creating images using films of watercolours lapping over each other bringing about shades of fresh colouring is remarkable.

From 1994 to 1996, he participated in a series of art exhibitions organized by his school and held his first solo exhibition at the E. L. Senanayake Children’s Library in 1997.

In March 1999, Prasanna exhibited at the Alliance Française de Kandy and held another exhibition in January 2004 at the Alliance Française de Colombo.
