Nishantha’s wife’s grave gets police guard
The grave of the wife of businessman Hemantha Nishantha who is at the centre of the controversy over JHU leader Ven. Ellawala Medhananda Thera’s duty free car permit issue, has been placed under police guard, until the body is exhumed on August 22 for examination, following a court order.
The court order followed a request by the CID that there was suspicion over Mr. Nishantha’s wife’s death which was reported as a suicide in 2004.The investigations started soon after Mr. Nishantha claimed he had purchased a Benz car using Ven Medhananda Thera’s car permit issued to the latter as an MP.
