Buddhist Education Centre

With the aim of developing a devout Buddhist clergy the Saraswathi International Buddhist Education Centre was opened yesterday amidst a large gathering of Government officials, priests and devotees.

The centre, built in association with the Diwulapitiya Leela Jayathileke Dharma Nikethanaya, is open to Buddhist priests from around the country.

It was the intention of the late Henpitigedera Gnanaseeha Thero and the late Henpitigedera Knanawasa Thero to establish an institution that would bring forth a devout clergy that would protect the teachings of the Buddha.
