CoL crisis: The way out
It's useless blaming the government for the present increase in the price of commodities and the rising cost of living, because this is a worldwide phenomenon.
At least in Sri Lanka prior warning is given on price increases but in other countries, only when the bills come, does one realize things have gone up in price.
Whatever happened to the popular community team spirit which we experienced during the sixties and seventies, where people of all walks of life joined in shramadhana campaigns to uplift local projects. In the mid-sixties the following slogan was publicized very much but it ended in sudden death. The slogan was "Let's get together for the nation's good. Let's work together and grow more food".
Can't we bring this back and make use of every inch of available land to grow something for our own consumption.
