Over 80 shuttlers for nationals

The 55th National Open All-Island shuttle championships will be held from December 7-10 at the Royal College Sports Complex.
Over 80 participants will take part in the contest for which entries closed on November 30.

The focus will once again be on defending men’s champion Niluka Karunaratne, ranked No 73 in the world, and his brother Diluka (last year’s runner-up), women’s singles defending champion Chandrika de Silva and last year’s runner-up Thilini Jayasinghe, who have been seeded.

Attention will also be drawn to outstanding juniors Udara Bayanajith (Royal) and R.S., Kasun (St. John’s Nugegoda).

There are no sponsors for the event and the SLBA will conduct this major event with its own resources.
