‘Makara’ at Elphinstone
Two shows of Jayalath Manoratne's play 'Makara' will go on boards at 3.30 pm and 6.45 pm on December 5 at Elphinstone theatre.
The play, a translation of renowned Russian author Eugene Schwartz's 'The Dragon' was initially adapted to the Sri Lankan theatre by veteran playwright Henry Jayasena.
Organised by the drama circle of "80 group", the play is brought back to the theatre after more than two decades.
The new production include Jayalath Manoratne, Jagath Chamila, Madidni Malwattege, Paboda Sandeepani. Sampath Tennakoon, Sarath Chandrasiri, Daya Edirisinghe, Ajith Lokuge, Susil Wickramasinghe, Malee Jayaweerage, Somapala Pathirage, and Somasiri Kolambage in the cast. |
