KBSL celebrates 20 years of service

Keells Business Systems Limited (KBSL), a fully-owned subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH) and one of the key players in the ICT industry, recently celebrated 20 years of service in Sri Lanka at an event held for its customers, principals, partners, employees and the Board of Directors of JKH.

KBSL said in a statement that it has won several highly complex and large projects, the most noteworthy being the rolling out of the JKH intranet (a trend-setter at that time) undertaken solely by KBSL engineers. In addition, the company has also pioneered call centre solutions for the largest telecom provider and the leading mobile carrier in the country.

KBSL recently scored another first in the region by deploying a soft switch and NGN solution for Sri Lanka’s largest mobile carrier in Sri Lanka. Thusha Weerasooriya, CEO/Vice President, KBSL said, “We attribute our ability to stay in business for 20 years in the ever-changing ICT marketplace to strategies adopted with a long-term view in sustaining the operation.”

KBSL began operations in 1987, representing IBM in Sri Lanka, to cater to the ever-growing PC marketplace. The company rapidly built up a successful business as the leading IBM PC distributor in the country.
