Sisters hold Arangetram

The Bharatha Natya Arangetram of Katrina Rekhanjali and Kristina Kalanjali, daughters of Mr. & Mrs. John will be held under the distinguished patronage of renowned Guru Natyachari V.P. Dhananjayan (President of the Academy Bharatha Kalanjali) of India on Friday December 14 at 6 p.m. at New Kathiresan Hall, Bambalapitiya. Kalanjali and Rekhanjali are trained by their mother, well-known dancer Nirmala John.

“Nirmalanjali" the School of Bharathanatyam was founded by Nirmala John on her return from Baratakalanjali, Chennai after her post graduate diploma in 1986.

The school has for well over two decades trained a large number of students. Nirmala John has been honoured with titles such as ‘‘Kalai Chelvi”, ‘‘Naatya Kala Jothi”, “Naatya Kala Mani”, “Kalai Chudar” and also received the prestigious “Bunka Award” from Japan.
