Charming ‘Batti’

In that immensely popular teledrama "Batti", the heroine is addressed as ‘Bondi" by two characters in the play. Clearly this word is used in a derogatory sense.

However, the meaning of this musical word appears to have changed over the year. According to me Sinhalese-English pocket dictionary compiled by Sirisena Maitipe and published in 1997, the word ‘Bondi’ has been defined as a ‘Charming lady’. However, I think it is more suitable for this charming lady.
