MAS helps Galle students

MAS Holdings, Sri Lanka’s largest apparel manufacturer, recently helped to raise the quality of life of students of Olcott Maha Vidiyalaya, Galle.

The students received a fully equipped three storey building, containing; an auditorium with a seating capacity of 500, 15 classrooms, staff room and a primary principals office through the MAS Trust Fund. The new building was officially opened by Mahesh Amalean, Chairman, MAS Holdings and Dian Gomes Managing Director, MAS Intimates.

“Education in Sri Lanka sometimes has little value due to the lack of infrastructure to support and employ these graduates.

People who do have the ability to be educated at a higher level are more likely to leave Sri Lanka for a country that would seem to offer a better and brighter future. To sustain the stability of our people, MAS took a giant step forward when they initiated this program to develop the quality of local students, and for that we thank you,” said M. W. Wijethilake, Educational Secretary of the Southern Province.
