Tea Factory churns out fuel from Glinicidia stumps

A top hotel in Nuwara Eliya, battling rising fuel and electricity prices like any other hotel, has developed a new energy source through Giniseeriya (Glinicidia Cepium) stumps, a commonly grown tree in most parts of the country.
The Tea Factory, part of the Aitken Spence Hotels’ chain, has started reaping the benefits of the environmentally-friendly electricity generation system and currently uses the method for hot water needed for the hotel and for washing of linen. |
