Coalescing with Omega long listed for Dublin Literary Award

Coalescing with Omega - a work of fiction by Rita Perera has been long listed for the prestigious International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, together with authors of the calibre of John Updike. It’s been a good year for Ms Perera as her book was also shortlisted for the Gratiaen Award.
The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award involves libraries from all corners of the globe, and is open to books written in any language. An initiative of the Dublin City Council, it is a partnership between the Council, the Municipal Government of Dublin City, and IMPAC, a productivity improvement company which operates in over 50 countries. The award is administered by Dublin City Public Libraries. Entries have to be nominated by local libraries from around the world.
The shortlist will be announced on April 2, 2008 and the winner on June 12.
Coalescing with Omega was published by Vijitha Yapa Publications and was nominated for the Award by the Public Library, Colombo.
