Nimalka to lead junior strikers

The Sri Lanka under 21 strikers will take wing to Muscat Sultanate of Oman to take part in the Junior Asia Federation Cup Hockey Tournament which will be held from 12 to 22nd January 2008.

The other countries participating in this tournament are – Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Macau, China, Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan and Brunei.

The 18 member squad will be captained by Nimalka Fernando while R.I.F. Meemanage will be his deputy. The rest of the squad reads as -- P.R.C. Fernando, S.S. Krishanthan, P.N.B. Weerakkody, M. Ariyawansa, R.K. Wijeratne, M.N.R.K. Bandaranayake, Y.T. Hashantha, L. Weerasooriya, V.V.R. Mohan, M.M. Mulafer, A. Fernando, M.B. Marapona, T. Dananjaya, V. Dharshana and U.L.A.C. Silva.

There will be a six member official’s team who will accompany the squad.
