Artistes stage a grand welcome to Dharmadasa

A large number of film stars and artistes gathered at the National Film Corporation premises last Monday to welcome Jayantha Dharmadasa, the reappointed chairman of the National Film Corporation.

Film stars, producers, directors and technicians flocked to the corporation premises to take part in the small function organized to welcome Mr. Dharmadasa who had been appointed as the head of the NFC once again.

Speaking at the occasion, T. Sangadasa who also has been appointed as an advisor to the NFC, said that artistes kept away from corporation over the last few years. He said that on the previous occasion when Mr. Dharmadasa was serving as the NFC Chairman a number of projects were initiated to support film artistes, lyricists and veteran artistes.

Jayantha Dharmadasa making a brief speech said that after cricket it is the film with which can go to the international world and with a collective effort to work to take local cinema to international standards.
