PIM to develop Finance Ministry grads

The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) which pioneered the MBA programme in Sri Lanka, over two decades ago, will train and develop 150 graduates at the Ministry of Finance and Planning from next month. Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration.

The programme adopts a new learning methodology which blends interactive classroom sessions with distance learning, using e-learning material and web forums. It covers a wide array of subjects, ranging from concepts of development to managing operations and will prepare participants to handle greater responsibility, and play an important role in the ministry.

The inauguration of the programme was held recently at the PIM Auditorium and was addressed by Prof. Narada Warnasuriya, Vice Chancellor, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Doughlas Keh, Country Director, UNDP, Dr. Lloyd Fernando, Director, Distance Learning, PIM, Sumith Abesinghe, Deputy Director, Ministry of Finance, and Dr. Uditha Liyanage, Director, PIM.
