Vibrant rock at ‘Reality Check’'

'Reality Check', a charity rock concert organized by Team MBM, will come alive on the March 8 at the auditorium of the British School. Team MBM is a reputed organization in the industry and works closely with contemporary rock bands such as Magic Box Mix-up, Hollow point Halo and Black.

'Reality Check' will feature some of Colombo's best rock bands such as Magic Box mix-up, Hollow point Halo, Powercut Circus, S.A.M. and Black. The event will be held in aid of several charitable causes such as donating of scholarships to children with learning and physical disabilities. The band 'Magic Box Mix-up' is a popular rock band in the scene, who won 'People's Choice Award' at TNL on stage 2006.They have already released their first CD and currently working on visualizing some of the tracks in the CD.

Magic Box Mix-up is led by Shaun Perera - vocals, Kushal lead guitar, Virentha - guitar, Navin - drums and Shiven on Bass guitar. 'Hollow point Halo' is too popular rock outfit led by Ranil Goonawardane. Ranil is considered one of Sri Lanka's top most sound engineers. 'Powercut Circus' is led by Sean Amerasekara, the winner of the best original award at the TNL 'On Stage 2006'.

The band 'S.A.M' was one of the finalists at the 2007 TNL 'On Stage' competition. 'Reality Check' expects to draw an audience of over 400 rock lovers ranging from school going teenagers from both local and international schools. The concert will comprise of original music of the said bands and cover versions of popular alternative and contemporary rock music'.
