Forum for thought

Our space to discuss sensitive political and human issues is becoming increasingly limited. In this light, Forum theatre creates an opportunity within the safety of theatre that allows people to explore and exhaust issues together in a creative manner.

So, if you are interested in people and politics, and in experimental theatre, and if you have something to say, or if you just want to listen to what others have to say, don't miss FORUM at the Punchi Theatre at 7.30 pm.

FORUM which opened last evening, performed on the theme of domestic violence, runs till March 12, promising four more nights of intense and thought-provoking theatre. Directed by Ruwanthie de Chickera and produced by Stages Theatre Group, FORUM will be performed by Mohamed Adamaly, Ruhanie Perera, Gihan de Chickera, Niran Anketell, Dylan Perera, Izhara Huzair Zubair, Jake Oorloff and others.

The Forum stories you will see will be based on the ethnic conflict (performed on March 9, 11 and 12) and domestic violence (performed on March 10). Admission to the show is free. However, the public is advised to pick up passes in advance from the theatre as doors would be closed once the auditorium is filled to capacity. Passes are currently available at the Punchi Theatre, Borella (Tel. 2672121).
