Rupavahini brings a variety of programmes

Sri Lanka National Rupavahini will telecast Easter Sunday Service from Baptist Church, Kotikawatta. The Service conducted by Reverend Kingsley Wijekoon will be telecast at 1.05 pm on Sunday March 23 (today). In addition Pope's Easter Sunday message will also be telecast at 5.30 pm on the same channel.

State Tele Award

A State Tele Award Festival which was held last week will be telecast at 10.30 pm on March 28 on Rupavahini channel. Organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs the festival for the fourth consecutive year was held on March 17 at the BMICH. Awards were given on thirteen categories including Best serial teledrama, one episodic drama, documentary, musical, direction, acting, announcing, news casting, make-up and art direction etc.

‘Fight Club’ on Saturday

Bollywood action movie 'Fight Club' directed by Vikram Chopra will be telecast on Saturday, March 29 at 10. 00 pm on Rupavahini. Starring Aashish Chaudhary ,Amrita Arora ,Dia Mirza ,Neha Dhupia, Suniel Shetty ,Ashmit Patel ,Rahul Dev and Yash Tonk.

'Fight Club' comprises boys turning into men - Vicky (Zayed Khan), Karan (Dino Morea), Somil (Ritiesh Deshmukh) and Diku (Aashish Choudhary). They share an amazing camaraderie with each other. They have fun together, they are as much as real brothers than just being friends and they know that they can get out of any situation if they are together.

Awards for Ran Aswanu

The award ceremony of 'Ran Aswanu Mangalya', a home gardening competition started by Rupavahini will be telecast at 8 am on Sunday March 23 from BMICH. The competition is conducted in three categories; home gardening, school gardening and gardening in flats. Over 5500 competitors participated and the panel of judges were from Agricultural Faculty and Agriculture Department, Peradeniya.

Valuable prices including a van, three wheeler and motorbikes were given for the home gardening competition while cash prizes are given for school gardening and flats.
