The award-winning advertising agency Leo Burnett, Solutions Inc. (LBSI) won a silver medal at Adfest 2008 -- the internationally acclaimed advertising awards festival held in Thailand yesterday.

The agency was also selected as a finalist in the Ambient category.“This multiple award-winning piece has been widely acclaimed by local and international advertising veterans and its win at Adfest 2008 demonstrates the executions capability to appeal to both local and global audiences. The award-winning execution -- for one of LBSI’s oldest client ODEL --was created with the aim of promoting sales of the latest addition to the Harry Potter book series, and featured a mysteriously self-stirring cup of coffee. The innovative piece has also won much recognition, including two silvers at local award events and two finalist nominations at the Asian Outdoor Advertising Awards”, the media statement said.
“This tremendous honour follows the agency’s numerous metal tallies at the Sri Lankan Advertising Award – The Chillies – as well as other local creative awards shows -- making LBSI the most awarded agency for two consecutive years,” it added.
Leo Burnett Solutions Inc., Managing Director Ranil de Silva said, “I am certainly thrilled by our win. To win a metal at an award show of such calibre is definitely an immense honour, but to also be the first agency to bring home Silver from an International awards show is definitely the icing on the cake. The ‘Harry Potter Coffee Cup’ execution for ODEL is a piece that is something we are all extremely proud of. It is a piece that is not only creative and simply executed, but more importantly it is able to draw in and engage an audience.” |
