Fox hunt for Tigers

A combined police and army team launched ‘Operation Fox Hunt’ yesterday in the Pettah, Kotahena, and Wolfendhal Street areas in search of suspected Tiger rebels.

The five-hour-long operation concluded with 80 people being detained, out of whom eight were taken into custody. About 5,000 houses were searched during the operation, police said.
