Sri Lankans applying for British visas under most categories will have their applications processed at the British Deputy High Commission in Chennai from tomorrow, the High Commission in Colombo announced.

A spokesperson said that except for diplomatic and migrant category visas, all other applications would be sent to Chennai and the processing period would be about a month.

All visa applications will continue to be made at the UK Visa Application Centre, at 367 R. A. De Mel Mawatha (Duplication Road), Colombo. The High Commission said passports and original documents would remain at the British High Commission in Colombo while other documents would be sent to Chennai.
