Senior lawyer J. C. Weliamuna's house comes under attack (Update)

Senior lawyer and Executive Director of Transparency International Sri Lanka J. C. Weliamuna's residence came under a hand grenade attack last night.

A family member told TimesOnline that a grenade was thrown at one of the balconies of their house located in a private lane off Dutugamunu Street in Kohuwala.

The attack was carried out at approximately 11.40 pm and police arrived on the scene to investigate. A door and some windows have been damaged in the attack.

According to Mr. Weliamuna's family, he had no personal disputes with anybody. They attributed the attack to one of the many sensitive court cases he had been handling in the past few days.
