Urgent press conference by Central Bank on financial issues

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CB) has called an urgent press conference this afternoon – Thursday at 3.30 pm to discuss what it calls “recent developments in the financial sector.”

The CB didn’t give details of what is expected to transpire at the briefing but its most likely to deal with the disastrous collapse of Sakvithi, the illegal finance company, and international issues relating to the US financial crisis and its impact in Sri Lanka.
