Air Force jets engage LTTE HQ in Kilinochchi

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) jets carried out air raids on the LTTE headquarters in Kilinochchi today.

SLAF Spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said the SLAF fighter jets engaged the LTTE main headquarters two kilometres northeast of the Kilinochchi town at 12.40 pm today.

The target was engaged accurately, he said.

However the pro LTTE Tamilnet said the LTTE Peace Secretariat and its political headquarters sustained heavy damages in the attack.

The web site also claimed that a civilian was killed and two others were injured.
