TMVP cadre shot dead in Batticaloa

A TMVP cadre was shot dead in Batticaloa town on Thursday night, Police said.

A micro-pistol had been used for the killing.

The TMVP cadre was on a motorcycle riding along the first lane, station road when he was shot dead.

Meanwhile, a civilian vehicle was shot at in Mailambaveli in Batticaloa and a subsequent search operation a T 56 weapon and 25 rounds of ammunition was found.

In Ampara a civilian was arrested as he was in possession of three 80mm mortar bombs, ammunition used for a 40mm grenade launcher and two hand grenades.
