World crude slides on US crisis

World crude prices slumped to $89.46 on Friday from $91.07 per barrel for Brent on Thursday despite prospects of the US House of Representatives voting to support a revised bailout package to revive a string of failed financial institutions, officials said in Colombo today.

According to the Central Bank, which releases indicative rates of global crude prices pegged to the Brent and OPEC baskets, the OPEC basket fell marginally to $89.28 from $89.99 on Thursday.

In the Singapore Refined Products market on Tuesday, petrol however gained to $99.20 from $96.70 while kerosene was up at $112.47 against $111.13 but diesel was down to $108.60 from $111.13.
