Colombo stocks - no hope

Colombo stocks on Thursday saw the ASPI (All Share Price Index) in early trade falling below 2000 for the first time in more than two years, but slightly recovered by mid day to 2023.75, however down by 19.87 points from Wednesday’s levels.

The last time it fell below 2000 level was at 1,968.89 on January 25, 2006. By mid-day the Milanka was at 2252.51, down by seven points. The turnover was at Rs 112 million. Stock analysts said that this gloomy trend will be displayed by the majority shares today..
