Man shot dead in Wellawatta

A man was shot dead in Wellawatta a short while ago, police said.

Police Spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara said the man was identified to be Megarasa (32).

A unidentified group of people who had come in a threewheeler had shot Megarasa near the IFS building in Wellawatta at 1.30 pm.

The victim's body lies at the Kalubowila hospital morgue, said SSP Gunasekara

No one has been arrested in connection with the murder and Wellawatta police is carrying out the investigation, he said.
