Colombo shares open on favourable note

Colombo share prices opened on a positive note with both indices gaining in early trade on Friday, brokers said.

The All Share Index rose by 10.26 points to 1,996.05 while the Milanka gained by 22.29 points to 2,235.57 in the first hour of trading. Turnover at the time was however low at Rs 7 million. The indices fell sharply on Thursday in line with overseas markets.
