Powerful claymore found close to Valachchenai bus stand

Police have detected and defused a powerful claymore mine close to the Valalchchenai bus stand Monday morning, military sources said.

The mine weighing three and half kilograms was placed near a shop close to the bus stand was found at 7.30 a.m. at a time there were a large number of passengers.

Military officials said earlier in the day the police had received a tip about the mine.
