CMC suspended, special commissioner appointed

The Chief Minister of the Western Province today suspended the Colombo Municipal Council.

Chief Minister Reginald Cooray said a special commissioner had been appointed to administer the council and its work.

The move follows a series of corruption allegations against Mayor M. Imitiyaz and his administration. .
