Two pistols found in UN agency office premises in Mannar

Two pistols hidden on the premises of an UN agency office in Mannar has been found, a UN official statement said Tuesday.

The Makarov pistols, and 48 rounds of ammunition had been secreted under an outdoor wood pile in the Mannar IOM office and discovered today morning by a UN security officer during a reulgar security sweep, the statement said.

"The police and national authorities were immediately notified. The mattre is now under police investigations", the statement said.
