Bridge collapses in Karuwalagaswea

Traffic movements on the Puttalam – Anuradhapura has been interrupted a shot while ago after a bridge on the main road at Karuwalagaswewa collapsed with a lorry carrying cement, police said.

The lorry was carrying 600 bags of cement on its way to Anuradhapura.

Police have diverted traffic from Karuwalagaswea through Nawagattegama back to the Anuradhapura road. Large number of vehicles have been held up in the area due to the sudden diversion..
