Three LTTE cadres arrested in Kahawatta, Ratnapura

Three suspected LTTE cadres were arrested in Kahawatta, Ratnapura yesterday by Kahawatta Police headed by OIC Prasanna Waidyanayake, police said.

Police Spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara said that the three suspects, who are 21, 22 and 23 years old, were taken into custody at 7 pm yesterday following a tip off.

They have received training at LTTE camps in Kilinochchi and were found to have been specialists in claymore mine attacks and also hospital related work, SSP Gunasekara said.

Their task in the south was to inform Kilinochchi about road blocks and their movements in Colombo. One of them is connected to an attack on the Navy, SSP Gunasekara said..
