Nine teams will contest the Under 19 Inter-Provincial cricket tournament scheduled to get underway on June 16. The tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket will be played in five venues around the metropolis.
The teams participating are Southern Province, Western Province North, Western Province South, Western Province North Outer, Western Province South Outer, North Central, Central Province, North/East Combine and Uva Province.
The grounds picked are Ananda ground, St Benedict’s ground, BRC, FTZ Katunayake and Thurstan ground in Reid Avenue.
The two semi finals have been scheduled to be played on June 18 at Ananda Mawatha and St Benedict’s ground in Kotahena and the final is slotted to be played on June 20 at Kotahena.
The match schedule:
June 16 – Western Province South Outer vs North Central at Ananda Mawatha.
June 17 – Southern Province vs Western Province North Outer St Benedict’s ground. Western Province South Outer vs winner of WPSO/NC at BRC. Central Province vs North/East Combine at FTZ Katunayake. Western Province North vs Uva Province at Thurstan ground.
June 18 – Semi Finals – Winner of 2nd match vs 3rd match at St Benedict’s and winner of 4th match vs 5th match at Ananda Mawatha.
June 20 – Final at St Benedict’s.-MSA |
